None to be spared over attack on Hindus: AL

01 November 2016 Ruling Awami Leauge has taken a firm stand over the incident of attack on Hindu community in Brahmanbaria’s Nasirnagar and said no culprits involved with the incident will be spared.

“The culprits will be traced and arrested,” said AL’s Organising Secretary Enamul Haq Shamim, who led a delegation of the party to visit the affected areas and victims today.

“Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is following the developments in this matter closely. She has instructed that no culprits go spared,” he told journalists after visit.

“The communal harmony will be maintained at all costs,” he said.

Also, according to him, the ruling party will hold an emergency meeting at Gono Bhaban this evening to chalk out plans to help the victims of the Brahmanbaria hate attack.

Last Saturday, religious zealots vandalised and ransacked at least five temples and over a hundred houses of the Hindus and looted valuables over a Facebook post.

Two cases have been filed so far over the incident. Police had said they were able to detain at least 15 people in connection to the incident. Some of them were shown arrested.
