They expressed their objections during a party working committee meeting on Sunday evening.

Muhith told the Bengali daily 'Prothom Alo' that Atiur Rahman levelled baseless allegations against various Bangladesh Bank officials over the recent cyber heist.

“He tried hard to prove that he was not the only one responsible. Two deputy governors were sacked on his complaints and he tried to get a few others ousted, but just could not," Muhith had told 'Prothom Alo'.

Muhith said Atiur had organised two press conferences-- one before he resigned and one after it.

"And he nagged the Prime Minister just to prove he was not to blame."

Muhith said Atiur Rahman had made no 'real contribution' to Bangladesh.

"He was a just a globe trotter, who moved all over the world, networking with important people and requesting them to invite him to deliver lectures," Muhith told the 'Prothom Alo'. "Now we are getting to know all this."

Muhith was not to be present at this meeting because he is member of the party's advisory committee.
