25 August 2014 Uttarayan arranged a musical evening at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on Saturday to mark the 4th anniversary of the music organisation. The programme, titled “Celluloid-e Rabindranath” featured Rabindra Sangeet which featured in films from the 1930s. Singers of Uttarayan rendered 25 songs of the bard.

Alongside songs, the programme also featured a video projection and instrumentals. The instrumentalists were Subrata Mukherjee, Biplab Mondal, Sandipan Ganguly and Sushanto Nandi.  Bhaswar Bandopadhyay and Dalia Ahmed emceed the programme alongside giving recitations.

The rendition of songs like “Shei Bhalo Shei Bhalo” from the film Noukadubi was enough to take one back in time. The video projection helped the listener to learn how Tagore penned songs to reflect different moods. Then came, “Ogo Dokhin Haoa” from the film Obak Prithibi.

Despite Uttarayan's earnest efforts, a few solos and two choruses performed at the event fell flat, much to the disappointment of the audience.
